Mrs. Violette Gautreau, 80, of Foyer St-Thomas, Saint-Joseph, and formerly of Gautreau Village, died Wednesday at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a brief illness.

Violette Gautreau Born in Pré-d'en-Haut, she was a daughter of the late Edmond and Annie (LeBlanc) Gautreau. She attended the Notre Dame de l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Club d'Age d'Or de Pré-d'en-Haut.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Gautreau; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Dupuis (Winnita) of Saint-Joseph and Mrs. Louis-Philippe Dupuis (Louise) of Memramcook East; two sons, Fideèle and Ella Gautreau, and Hector and Edith Gautreau, of Gautreau Village; five sisters, Mrs. Lucie Boudreau, Mrs. Marie Fagan and Mrs. Amanda Boudreau, all of Moncton, Mrs. Henri Bourque (Jeanne) of Belliveau Village and Léona Gautreau of Gautreau Village; two brothers, Willie and Edmond Gautreau of Gautreau Village; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Edmée Bourque, and a brother, Abram Gautreau.

Resting at the Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook, with the Funeral mass to be celebrated Friday at 7 p.m. at the Notre Dame de l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
